Bio: Aaron Betsinger is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Social Work (SSW) and research faculty at The Institute. His work is focused on improving the lives of youth and families involved in child-serving systems, including juvenile justice and child welfare. He currently conducts research related to juvenile intake and detention for the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS). He is also leading an evaluation related to system of care programming for Transition Aged Youth (TAY) in Prince George's County, MD, and he is the lead evaluator for Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) in Maryland. He received both his Ph.D. and M.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park, and he received his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University.
