Bio: Lauren Rabinovitz has over 11 years of experience working with child and family-serving systems at various levels across the country through provision of clinical services to young children and their families; conducting training and technical assistance on early childhood mental health, home visiting and systems of care; and executing utilization focused research and implementation assistance to the home visiting community. Ms. Rabinovitz has been working at the Center for Child and Human Development (CCHD) for five years and has worked on multiple projects all focusing on enhancing the quality of services to young children and their families touched by multiple child serving systems. Ms. Rabinovitz currently serves as a Technical Assistance Specialist for three federal initiatives aimed at improving the lives of young children and their families. She is supporting grantees from the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program, The Center for Excellence in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation, and Systems of Care with a focus in early childhood. In the past, Ms. Rabinovitz has worked with the National Center on Health and Wellness and in this role, she provided training and technical assistance on early childhood mental health to teachers, directors, technical assistance providers and family members nationwide. Ms. Rabinovitz was also part of the evaluation team working with the District of Columbia Department of Health. This project worked with community providers implementing evidence-based home visiting programs with funding from the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIECHV). She has worked on a trauma informed care project which culminated in a resource tool on how organizations and states can become trauma informed; this tool has been utilized in over 75 countries by over 100 thousand individuals. She also participated in a secondary data analysis of a Federal demonstration waiver to understand the impact of community service alternatives to Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities. Additionally, she was a member of a research team examining the behavioral health services for children and youth in the District of Columbia. She is able to provide both subject matter expertise and management skills to early childhood endeavors. Prior to working at CCHD, Ms. Rabinovitz worked as a clinical case manager in the DC Foster Care System and as an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Clinician in a Head Start in Baltimore City. Both of these positions involved working directly with community mental health agencies, early childhood providers (early interventionists, therapists, early education teachers) and families (biological/kinship, foster, and pre-adoptive). Whether working directly with children and families or providing technical assistance to a local community provider, Ms. Rabinovitz is rooted in the confluence of early childhood mental health, prevention oriented intervention, and systems of care. She brings a unique combination of clinical and direct service work with management, evaluation and training expertise.
